I am most happy when I remember that I am a minimalist and
begin clearing things away.
I clear away extra clothes from my closet, old
papers from the file cabinet, forgotten emails from the computer, stale food from the
cupboard.
And if I am very fortunate, I will remember to clear away
unnecessary thoughts that crowd my mind with worry and doubt and negativity.
When all the extra things are cleared away, I find more
space for peace, for quiet, for simple, joyful moments when I catch glimpses of true
beauty.
When all the baggage and junk and debris of life is
discarded and forgotten, I rediscover my true and deepest self again in the midst of simplicity.
And my heart fills with pleasure and contentment, and all is
right with the world.
